Pinal County, Arizona Sheriff’s Office “We were notified from the phone calls that a citizen brought our missing person to a truck stop. The cameras were searched and that lead us to Phoenix where he was located. Thank you.” This was written after A Child Is Missing Alert was activated on December 21, 2012 by Detective Swinton. A 67 year old man with Dementia had been reported missing in Eloy and concern for his safety was growing. Nearly 1,000 telephone alert calls were sent to the area which assisted deputies in locating the man safe, 65 miles away.

At 8:30am on May 24, 2008, a 90 year old woman went missing in the area of South Jamaica Boulevard and South McCulloch Boulevard in Lake Havasu, Arizona. Officer R.C. McBride called A Child Is Missing and activated the Alert Program in an effort to locate the woman. More than 4,000 calls were launched to the area and “a resident who was familiar with the missing person, saw her and was able to locate her within a short period of time,” McBride said.

Bullhead City, AZ (Mohave County) - On February 16, 2008, the Bullhead City, Arizona Police Department utilized A Child Is Missing regarding a 78 year old woman who had gone missing that morning. After more than 4,000 alert phone calls were launched, Bullhead City Police received approximately six calls from alert residents—all of whom had seen the missing woman near her home at different times of the day. This information enabled Police to narrow their search and find the woman sitting in a neighbor’s car two blocks from her home.
